I'm not a student counsellor, but if anyone does need any dating advice or safe sex tips, do let me know. It seems some of you may need the help.

While I doubt I should speak to you about any of the aforementioned topics, I would like to have a chat with you of sorts. Would that be possible, ma'am?

My door is always open, Paige. Not literally, but you get the idea. If you want to make specific arrangements, drop me a note and we'll choose a convenient time.

Well. Spontaneity is supposed to be useful, perhaps I should give it a try. I'll be up shortly, all right? Oh, and I'll be sure to knock.

Is this where I give my testimonial about the Frost Dating Service?

Absolutely. "Getting mutants laid since earlier this semester". If that's not a guarantee of quality, I don't want to know what is.

What about getting the faculty laid? Wouldn't that be a worthy cause?

Jacob, sweetie, you of all people should surely be able to keep yourself entertained, no?

But if you need my help, I'll be happy to give the girls a testimonial. Or the boys.

Not me, Grace, but thank you so much for the offer. Nice to know I'm not completely forgotten. Does wonders for my self esteem.

No, I was thinking... Oh, say, Pete?

Because I'm a kind, caring person, me.

Darling, one never forgets one's first metamorph.

As for Peter... well, we could always make a quick trip to the pound. Oh, but I jest. Does Peter even need a girl? Doesn't he have his memories to keep him warm at night? Calcutta, Berlin, Sao Paolo. Ah, memories.

Memories don't keep anyone warm, dear.

Unless one's a telepath, I suppose.

No, I'm thinking... Yelena? The skinny Russian Nikita wannabe? A match made in spy heaven, wouldn't you say?

I'm bored, can you tell?

Yelena Belova? Oh, darling, she'd eat him alive. Or am I thinking of preying mantises? Anyway, spies don't date other spies, they just fuck and shoot each other.

Which brings us right back to you and me, now I think about it.

Except neither of us are spies.

Well, not technically, anyway.

I was only talking only about the shooting and the fucking, Jacob. I have never engaged in any kind of espionage, as I'm sure you know, and I wholly resent the implication. Ahem.

My most sincerest apologies. *grins* Of course you haven't. And neither have I.

And, you know, neither of us have actually shot the other... Hmmm. Wonder where this leaves us..?

That's true, I never did actually hit you. Maybe we should have another go, darling?

No, you didn't, and I'm really quite fine with that. Honestly, I am.

Strangely, that too, is oddly familiar.

Anyway, have fuck else to do. Have not given up on shocking you yet. Oh no. One day, my friend. One day...

Actually, if you know of any restaurants in the area that would fall into the nice-but-not-uncomfortably-nice category, I would be eternally grateful.

Possibly also advice on finding someone to teach me to dance. I can do ballroom, but I'm not exactly dating a ballroom dancing kind of girl, and the less idiot-like I look, the better.

I can't do much about the dancing thing, and Ms. Frost probably knows tons more places, but Ventresca's--'s about half an hour away, in Eberts--has really good food, a dance floor, and is classy, but not swanky enough to make a Kansas farmboy feel out of place, and I had a good enough time there I wouldn't mind dropping more business their way. :)

Ventresca's is probably just the ticket, actually. Obviously, when I go there I'm slumming, but for the rest of you it's borderline aspirational.

As for dance lessons, well, I'm sure I can show you a few moves. I promise not to teach you ballet. Alison probably knows a think or two, too. Don't be too quick to rule out ballroom dancing, though, Shinobi. You may have need of it.

Thanks, you two. Ventresca's does sound about perfect.

I quite like ballroom dancing, myself, but Sarah about killed me when I made noises about teaching her to tango, so I think I need to broaden my horizons a bit more. If you can show me a thing or two, Emma, I'd be in your debt. Again. I seem to spend a lot of time there, don't I? Ah well, fun place to be.

*hums*

Said if you wanna go dancing you gotta wear a tuxedo
And we could do the tango where ever we go
Said if you wanna do the tango then we're gonna need a ballroom
So she took me by the hand and led me to her bedroom...
