Whoever would have guessed?

That you can miss your own birthday? Well, missed in the sense of having a glittering bash in Paris attended by scions of industry and. Well. Let's stick with scions, shall we? Most of them don't want people to know exactly what they're scions of.

Apparently, having your own wanted poster (even if it can be laughingly dismissed as an identification error made by a megalomaniacal, twisted, genetically engineered, spider/monster/robothead/dictator) requires a truly concentrated and extensive round of delicate and personal contract negotiations. BEFORE all your company's government contracts get terminated.

Still. I had one of the posters framed and shall keep it in my personal collection. One doesn't often get such a personalised memento of one's role in bringing down a psychotic spider-headed robotic squid-man. Or whatever it was Moreau was there at the end.

Fortunately, I managed to finish it all off with corporate boxes at the Olympics and have spent two weeks in London being gloated at by British people and having Heston make me lunchboxes. And now that the glittering carnival is over, I hope to be home in a few days to continue the hijinks and shenanigans.

Did I miss anything while I was away?

I spent an inordinate amount of time in a very dry country in all senses of the word. But, I managed to shore up our contacts, and didn't die or get maimed in any significant way.

Also, I made you something for your birthday and left it on your desk at the office.

When I saw the title of it, I figured it was totally you. And would help in winter!

And there I was thinking that I was the Ice Queen. Nonetheless I shall appreciate your gift in the colder winters. When I actually make it back to New York. Soon.

I broke Doug. It wasn't fun, but apparently what he needed.

I am most appreciative. I sought to help but... I was not the right person at the time, let us say.

No gloating over Team Britain?

Team GB doesn't need gloating. :) The medals speak for themselves.

I'm getting put back together, so no harm done.

I'm more pleased to hear that than you could imagine.

I want to be you.

Hard work, study and some of the most fabulous psychic powers that can be gifted to a young mutant and glittering carnivals can be yours.

Also, learn French and how to walk in killer heels. Both prove astonishingly useful on occasion. Sometimes the same occasion.

Ah. I did the same with mine. I have been using it as a technique to get dates. It seems to be working quite well.

[identity profile] x-celsis.livejournal.com 2012-08-13 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
A most excellent display of initiative.

Though you use it get dates? Do you carry it around with you in one of those cardboard tubes to show people or is it more a "would you like to come back to my room and see my wanted poster?" style?

[identity profile] x-bevatron.livejournal.com 2012-08-14 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
The latter. Carrying a poster around all night would rather impede one's ability to dance, non?

When you say lunchboxes, do you mean boxes of food that were prepared for your eating pleasure, or do you mean someone was making actual boxes for you with designs on them that little kids would take to school?

[identity profile] x-celsis.livejournal.com 2012-08-14 12:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Boxes of food, little sister. And dry ice. And sometimes things in tubes. It was all edible - divine, in fact - but not necessarily... food-like. I'm still not entirely sure about the snail porridge, though.

I am fairly certain the last lunchbox I ever used had Jem and the Holograms on it. The first time. Not now when it's hipster retro cool irony to have a lunchbox with Jem and the Holograms on it.
